We’re looking for an outbound Business Development Representative (BDR) to be the engine behind our net-new logo acquisition. This is not an “entry-level, dial-and-smile” role. It’s a tough, craft-focused job for someone who wants to hunt, learn complex enterprise sales, and build a real career path toward AE / Enterprise sales in SaaS. You’ll partner closely with experienced sales leaders (including a CRO with a track record at SAP, Docebo, and now Toon Boom–style environments) to open doors in studios, networks, and education institutions and build qualified pipeline for the sales team.
Responsibilities
Own outbound prospecting into target accounts (email, phone, LinkedIn) to create qualified meetings for AEs.
Research accounts and contacts: map stakeholders, understand their business (e.g., studio, network, school) and identify where our platform fits.
Run initial discovery to confirm fit using a simple qualification framework (need, timing, stakeholders, rough budget).
Book and prep meetings: ensure every meeting has clear context, notes, and next steps so AEs can run high-quality discovery.
Maintain clean CRM hygiene: log activities, update stages, track touchpoints, and keep data accurate.
Feedback loop: share what you’re hearing from the market (objections, use cases, patterns) with Sales and Marketing so we can refine messaging and targeting.
Hit and exceed activity + pipeline targets consistently. In this role, volume + discipline are non‑negotiable.
Requirements
Non‑negotiables:
Work ethic: you’ve got proof you can do boring, repetitive work at a high standard every day. You don’t need babysitting.
Team mindset, low ego: you compete hard but don’t create drama. You make the people around you better.
Customer‑first: you care about whether the deals you help create actually turn into happy, long‑term customers.
Experience & skills:
1–3+ years in BDR/SDR or outbound B2B sales, ideally in SaaS / technology.
Comfortable with high-volume, structured outbound: calls, emails, LinkedIn, sequences.
Strong written and verbal communication; you can deliver a tight, compelling elevator pitch.
Experience with CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot) and at least one sales engagement tool (Outreach, Salesloft, etc.).
Resilient: you can handle rejection and still execute the plan every day.
Nice to have (signals we like):
Background in competitive team sports or similar environments where performance and teamwork both matter.
Entrepreneurial history: ran your own thing (painting, landscaping, tutoring, etc.) or put yourself through school.
Exposure to media, animation, gaming, or education markets is a plus, not a requirement.
